1. Use of the site
NameSwift is free to use. You do not need to create an account, provide an email, or sign in. You can use the names generated here for any creative purpose, including but not limited to: novels, short stories, tabletop roleplaying games (including D&D, Pathfinder, World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Elden Ring, and others), video games, online handles, social profiles, fanfiction, and roleplay servers.
2. Commercial use
You can use the generated names commercially. If you publish a book, release a game, or sell a product that uses names from this site, you are responsible for ensuring those names do not infringe on any real-world trademark, character, or brand. NameSwift does not grant any rights to names that are real or trademarked by someone else.
3. No warranty
The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep the generators working, the syllable banks fresh, and the lore-friendly feel intact, but we make no guarantees about the output. Use at your own discretion.
4. Generated names may match real names or trademarks
Names are generated from common syllable patterns. It is possible - though rare - that a generated name will coincidentally match a real person, a registered trademark, or a well-known fictional character. If that happens and you would like the name flagged, please reach out via the contact page with the page, the name, and a link to the real person or mark. We will adjust the syllable banks to reduce the chance of the same match happening again.
5. Trademarks and copyrights
All game names, setting names, and character names referenced on this site (including but not limited to Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, Skyrim, The Elder Scrolls, Elden Ring, League of Legends, The Lord of the Rings) are the property of their respective owners. NameSwift is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies. They are referenced only as descriptors of the type of name the generator produces.
6. User-submitted content
The site does not currently allow user-submitted content. If we add a feature that does, we will update this page and add a content policy.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date below will always reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
